Black is beautiful and how! Black hair has mesmerized people for years and one has seen black hair oozing charm when sleek, straight, braided or when long and curly. Black hair is also beautiful when worn long, short or cropped and people who are not naturally blessed with black hair go to the extent of using black hair color to achieve the look! But natural black hair also needs extra care and styling. Need some tips on black hair care? Simply read on!

Oiling And Hair Wash
Always massage your scalp on a regular basis. This will stimulate oil production and also help to reduce the dryness of your hair. For those who have extremely dry hair, oil your scalp after shampooing and when your hair is still moist, massage the oil into your scalp. Then gently brush out to the ends of your hair.

Try to shower with warm water as hot water can dry and cause an irritation to the scalp.
Yet another tip for natural black hair care, when you wash your hair would be to wash them only in one direction. This would avoid your hair from being tangled when you have a hair wash.

Brushing And Handling
Black hair is also prone to hair breakage and hair loss. Therefore, be gentle with your hair. Use a boar bristle brush and they help to distribute the natural hair oils from the root to the tip. Any soft brush when used slowly will have a very good effect on your hair.

Always tie up your hair when you go to bed. Black hair tends to get tangled whist you catch your beauty sleep. Also, the natural oils transfer onto the pillow as you sleep. It is often recommended to use satin scarves and pillowcases for this reason. This is because cotton tends to absorb the natural oil of the hair and cotton pillowcases can also cause the hair to tangle.

Never rub your hair harshly with a towel. Always use it gently or let it dry naturally.
When using rubber bands in your hair ensure that you cover it with a smooth material. This would prevent your hair from being caught in the bands. You can soak the rubber band in oil before use. Or you can even switch to clips and roller to minimize hair breakage, but avoid the use of sharp clips that can cause further damage to your hair.

If possible, stay away from the use of heat treatment and such other processes unless if absolutely necessary as this can cause drying of your hair. Most of such treatments tend to strip off all the natural oil and also cause the hair to lose its natural texture.

Still can’t live without your straightening iron? Once you know how to achieve that sleek, smooth look it’s hard to go back. It really doesn’t matter which flat iron you use: ceramic, thermal, metal or ionic – they all damage your hair with over-use and inappropriate use. They heat keeps your hair dry and over time will damage the ends of your hair.

Here are tips to help you and your flat iron work side-by-side without damaging your hair.

Your flat iron can last longer and do less damage to your hair if you keep it clean.

It is very easy to use the iron once you get the knack of it. Hence practicing the process well much in advance can help you.

When using the iron on your hair comb, on the section you are using first, before running the iron through it.

Try avoiding using any products until you finish straightening out your hair.

Use small sections. The smaller the section the flatter and more weightless your hair will be.

Use a wide bristle brush on your hair while brushing your desired shape into place.

Use even pressure while stroking your flat iron from the root to the end without stopping on any part of the sectioned hair.

Use a lightweight serum to smooth any frizz left over. You’ll only need a little.

Let your iron cool; clean its surface with a cloth so you’ll be ready to use it again tomorrow.

Living with your Dry hair is really tough. You feel the pain but you still live with it without finding the reason or solution. While you easily know the Remedy for Oily Hair but you still suffer with your dry hair.

Dry hair is caused by any kind of extra heat, an open cuticle and poor maintenance. If you try to apply chemicals or harmful substance to your hair that may also lead to dry hair. Here are few solutions that cure your dry.

SOLUTIONS:

Less or no heat. When blow drying, use a cooler setting and do not blow dry until the is completely dry.

Use acidifiers. Acidifiers close the cuticle down and lock in moisture. Acidifiers have a pH of 2.5 to 3.5. They have a lower pH than hair does in an aqueous solution.

Color, perms, relaxers, and other chemicals are sometimes a necessary evil. They rob the hair of humectants. Humectants attract and retain moisture (water) in the cortical layer of the hair. Try to use low ammonia -low peroxide color. Do not leave neutralizer on too long with perms. If possible avoid relaxers.

Treat your hair well. Replace lost humectants with essential fatty acids (lipids), acidify your hair, use low pH products, use cool water. Replace what was taken out to make your hair dry. Also eat a diet full of essential fatty acids.

After a fresh shower, you wrap your hair in a towel as a solution to prevent your clothes from getting wet. It also dries your hair well and gives you a chance to complete your other tasks. But do remember there are certain steps to follow while you wrap your wet hair in a towel. The steps are explained below so that for you to wrap your hair in the right way.

Take a towel that is big enough to wrap around your head and covers your hair.

Flip your hair over your head so it’s in front of your face and hangs down. You may need to slightly bend ahead for this.

Wrap the towel around your head. Some people like to put the towel over their ears, but it makes it hard to hear.

Twist your hair in the towel until there is only a little bit left on the end.

Flip it back over your head.

If you are right handed then take the towel lengthwise and put the left end of the towel around the front of your head but so you can still see – wrap that end around to halfway around the back of your head.

Take the other side of the towel and bring it behind you and then in front of the piece that it going around your head: Twist the length of the towel and bring the twisted part forward and tuck into the left side of the front and you can adjust the twisty part back.
